This book explains the teaching and learning processes in a very lucid manner. It further emphasizes the importance of tutorials, laboratories, industrial visits training and drawings and so on. During his relatively long service tenure the author was assigned to handle Industrial Training apart from his normal duties of Engineering department for three years owing to his mixed background of teaching and industrial experience. There, while interacting with students of different disciplines, he realized that there are only a very few books available on this subject. This was his mental set up which made write this book wherein he has tried to familiarize students with teaching, learning, industrial visits, industrial training. The Author feels and also stresses the need to have University examinations of first year for Engineering Drawing, Workshop Technology and Environmental Science in all disciplines; and 2nd Year’s machine drawing for Mechanical Engineering students. Unfortunately, some universities do not hold examinations for these vital subjects. The Author hopes the readers will like this endeavour.

Author Description

Prof. (Dr) R.K. Kaushik is presently working in the Ganga Institution of Technology and Management (Dept. of Mechanical Engg.) in Kablana. He is an MIE; an M Tech; a PhD; and a Life Member of IE(India). He has more than 50 years of experience which includes 24 years of experience in a multinational company A B B (earlier Taylor) which he spent contributing towards its various departments including industrial training. Here he got a chance to learn and practise the different aspects of engineering which proved very useful later in his teaching career. His area of specialisation and research includes a MM Design, Strength of Material and Manufacturing Technology. He has about 12 years’ experience of teaching the higher diploma students in Kenya and Botswana. Now for about one decade he is engaged in teaching B. Tech. students.
