Extensive commentary details the relations between the rulers and ordinary people and their mode of life and enjoyment. Most of the material in the book is new for students of Urdu Literature and this is the first English language publication on this subject in Pakistan.

Author Biography

Dr. Muhammad Aslam Qureshi (1917 -1985) received his doctorate from the Punjab University in 1963. He was posthumously awarded a Certificate of Commendation from the Government of Pakistan in recognition of his creative efforts in the field of Urdu Literature. He is the author of numerous articles and essays and his book Almiya was published recently in Lahore.
