Reading Sense: The objective of this series is to offer an opportunity for students to read widely in order to widen their knowledge, increase their vocabulary and sharpen their writing skills. Each book contains 28 well-selected passages of about 400-450 words on topics ranging from the way people learn to time travel. Exercises are provided at the end of each passage to help students improve their thinking and reasoning skills. With the exception of the writing exercise, suggested answers are provided to all the other questions, including summary writing.

Author Biography

Rosalind Fergusson, a former teacher, has spent 25 years compiling a wide range of language related reference books. She has contributed to Chambers School Spelling (2003), Cassell Dictionary of English Idioms (1999), Macmillan Guide to English Grammar(1998), among others. She is an editor, lexicographer, writer, and a former teacher with a wide range of reference books to her name. She lives in Kent with her husband David and occupies her leisure time with walking, sailing, literature and music.
